“We hired Sage for day of coordination for our wedding in Mount Vernon.

In the months leading up to the wedding, Katelynn offered a ton of support and guidance as I worked my way through the various stages of the planning process.[...] Notably, Sage has a questionnaire that they have you fill out two months before the wedding that helps you think about all the details you didn’t even realize that you needed to think about. This was incredibly helpful!

On the day of the wedding, Katelynn and Paityn did literally everything. They were there at 9:00 on the dot and didn’t leave until the venue was spotless. They set up all of my decorations (don’t even get me started on how perfectly they set up the tables), flipped the room from ceremony to reception, and cleared all of the tables of dishes and garbage. [...] I was so relaxed and was able to enjoy my day without worrying about anything.

I am so grateful I found Sage Event Co!”

CLIENT testimonial

Jordyn and Anthony had a vision for a bright, light, airy wedding with tons of eye-catching color and small, precious details. They brought us on board for day-of event coordination to ensure that everything stayed true to their vision, and everyone had an amazing time.

THE PROJECT

  • The colors and aesthetic that Jordyn & Anthony chose
  • The floral perfection
  • Their kind and thoughtful guests

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

The couple lives out of state, but when they saw the local Christianson Nursery venue online, they fell in love. Since they aren’t familiar with the Mount Vernon area, we made sure that they were connected with all of the vendors that they would need. Additionally, we coordinated with their vendors to keep their wedding on track and on time and built their day-of timeline around the venue guidelines.

Because they’re from out of state, all of Jordyn & Anthony’s guests were from out of town. Which adds the challenge of making sure that everyone is comfortable, and able to get to and from the venue. Despite a few late shuttles due to unexpected traffic, we were able to keep everything on time and all guests happy.

“Megan did such an amazing job with our wedding! My husband and I are based in Chicago so planning a wedding in Washington was a challenge. She made the planning process fun! Megan helped make sure our day was a success and we are so grateful!”

CLIENT testimonial

An outdoor wedding has an added layer of unpredictability, but we couldn’t picture Liz and Brian’s 70’s-inspired wedding happening anywhere but Leavenworth. We mixed the couple’s laidback retro style with the Bavarian history of Leavenworth by pairing colorful wildflowers and fresh local fruit with vintage postcards, signs, and other knick-knacks. The event itself was a colorful blast with plenty to do including lawn games, an ice cream stand, and pizza!

THE PROJECT

  • The couple’s ability to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere
  • The fun and unique decor
  • The relaxing, laid back approach to their wedding day

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

Liz and Brian are based in Chicago, we are based in Mount Vernon, and all of their vendors were based in Seattle. All we can say is thank goodness for Zoom meetings! During our initial planning meeting, we discussed their priorities and vision for their wedding day, which the Sage Event Co. team turned into a design blueprint and personalized vendor list to guide us throughout the entire planning process. We then made a game plan for booking vendors, sourcing decor and floral, and determining the logistics.

Leavenworth’s natural beauty and charming alpine vibes make it the perfect backdrop for a 70s-inspired wedding with a modern twist. To bring this groovy theme to life, consider incorporating disco balls into your décor for a touch of sparkle and nostalgia. Hang them from trees or include mini disco balls on your tablescapes for a whimsical yet cohesive look. Lean into retro color palettes like warm oranges, mustard yellows, and earthy tones that complement Leavenworth’s stunning outdoor scenery. For a truly unique touch, pair vintage-inspired elements like macramé backdrops or velvet lounge seating with the cozy ambiance of this mountain town. Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering or a lively celebration, remember that small details like funky signage, layered textures, and creative lighting can tie the theme together beautifully. Above all, embrace Leavenworth’s charm and let the town’s one-of-a-kind atmosphere shine through every part of your wedding day!

Style Tips for a groovy Leavenworth Wedding

Rea and Shawn had a perfect wedding, built entirely around them. The couple held a formal ceremony at their church and then partied the night away in Pioneer Square. The vibes were modern and industrial with a touch of romance, which fit perfectly with their venue’s exposed brick walls and steel beams. Instead of signature cocktails, the couple had signature coffees for their guests to enjoy.

THE PROJECT

  • Right from the start, we felt like Rea and Shawn were our friends. We were so sad when they’re wedding was over because we wouldn’t get to talk to them all the time anymore.
  • We loved that they didn’t feel the pressure to provide a bar at their wedding knowing that it didn’t feel right to them. The added personal touch of the coffee cart made their big day feel so much more like “them.”

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

We worked on Rea and Shawn’s wedding for just under a year. Almost immediately, we were drawn to the industrial vibe of their venue, AXIS, but knew that we wanted to soften it with touches like vintage furniture, gold accents, and neutral florals with pops of soft pink. The venue itself is rather dark, so we added string lights across the dining space and used lighter colors in the decor like white, dusty blue, and pinks. Since most of their guests don’t drink, Rea and Shawn opted for a dry wedding with the personal touch of a coffee cart in lieu of alcohol.

Rae and Shawn’s wedding showcased everything that makes a Seattle celebration so magical. From the moody elegance of the Pacific Northwest to the urban charm of the city, their day was a perfect reflection of Seattle’s unique wedding style.
Hosting a wedding in Seattle means embracing the natural beauty of the region—think dramatic skies, lush greenery, and waterfront views—and pairing it with the city’s modern edge. Rae and Shawn incorporated rich florals, candlelit tablescapes, and meaningful details that blended romance with the chic, urban vibe Seattle is known for.

Whether you’re drawn to the iconic skyline, cozy indoor-outdoor venues, or the creative energy of the city, a Seattle wedding offers endless possibilities for a day that feels uniquely yours.

What Makes a Seattle Wedding Unforgettable

We’ll say it: traditional bridal shows are… boring. Big Fake Wedding puts a fun, innovative, and exciting spin on the stale show model. Instead of walking from vendor table to vendor table and attending a few panels, Big Fake Wedding puts on (you guessed it) a BIG FAKE WEDDING. Complete with a theme, an actual married couple, and a dance party reception.

Participating in The Big Fake Wedding was an exhilarating experience for our team at Sage Event Co. This innovative bridal show alternative allowed us to showcase our planning and design expertise in a live, immersive setting. We crafted a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that captivated attendees, highlighting our commitment to creativity and attention to detail. Collaborating with talented vendors and connecting with enthusiastic couples reinforced our passion for creating unforgettable events. The Big Fake Wedding not only provided a platform to display our skills but also inspired us to continue pushing the boundaries of wedding planning and design.

THE PROJECT

  • Meeting all of the amazing vendors! We made some of our best connections to date at Big Fake Wedding.
  • Getting to know the Big Fake Wedding team.
  • Creating a tablescape with a theme that we’ve never worked with before. We always love a creative challenge

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

As the day-of coordinators for the “Cigarette Daydreams” themed Big Fake Wedding, we created the schedule for the day and coordinated the rehearsal, getting our couple down the aisle, and the ribbon wand send off. We also designed two full tablescapes.

Megan and Riley’s Mt. Rainier elopement was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The couple shared a private first look before exchanging heartfelt vows in a secluded spot beside the Ohanapecosh River. Afterwards, they retreated to a cabin with their closest family and friends for an intimate dinner celebration. Against the breathtaking backdrop of the surrounding mountains, the newlyweds shared their first dance and raised a toast to their lifelong commitment. It was a truly unforgettable day filled with love, joy, and stunning natural beauty.

THE PROJECT

  • Our lead coordinator Megan got to marry them!!! When we say we’re equipped to do it all, we really mean it…

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

Megan and Riley reached out for coordination less than a month before their wedding, so we dove right into our planning process. With distance keeping us from touring the locations in-person, we made all of our decisions based on photos and Google maps! Thankfully, we were able to coordinate with their photographer who was in the area a few weeks before the wedding to have them scout out that beautiful ceremony location. Luckily, everywhere we chose ended up being as breathtaking in real life as it was in the pictures.

Planning an elopement at Mt. Rainier offers a breathtaking backdrop for your special day. To make the most of this stunning location, consider the following style tips:
 • Embrace the Natural Setting: Opt for attire and décor that complement the lush greenery and rugged terrain. Earthy tones and natural fabrics can enhance the organic feel of your ceremony.
 • Intimate Ceremony Details: Since elopements are typically more private, focus on personalized elements like handwritten vows or a custom ceremony arch that reflects your unique love story.
 • Seasonal Considerations: Mt. Rainier’s weather can be unpredictable. Ensure you have appropriate attire and contingency plans for varying conditions, especially if you’re planning a summer elopement.
 • Capture the Moment: Hire a photographer experienced with mountain landscapes to truly capture the majesty of your elopement setting.
 • Leave No Trace: Respect the natural environment by minimizing your ecological footprint. Use eco-friendly materials and ensure all décor is removed after the ceremony.

By incorporating these elements, your Mt. Rainier elopement will be a harmonious blend of natural beauty and personal significance.

Like so many couples recently, Emmy and Scott had to completely pivot their wedding plans due to COVID. But they didn’t let that get them down–instead of waiting or eloping, they opted for a microwedding at Deception Pass beach. We’re so glad they did, because it was breathtaking.

Emmy and Scott’s micro-wedding at Deception Pass Beach in August 2020 was a testament to their resilience and love. Faced with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, they gracefully adapted their plans to create an intimate and memorable celebration. The picturesque beach setting provided a serene backdrop for their heartfelt vows, with the gentle waves and golden sands symbolizing the enduring nature of their commitment. Surrounded by a close circle of family and friends, Emmy and Scott’s wedding was a beautiful blend of simplicity and elegance, capturing the essence of their unique love story.

THE PROJECT

  • It was an intimate and memorable event.
  • They never let the constant change and uncertainty get in their way or ruin their mood. They were truly just happy to be together, celebrating their love

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

This wedding came together in a snap! But even though we were on a serious time crunch, everything came together beautifully. We helped them bring their beachy boho chic vision to life, and coordinated everything on the day of. This includes hauling everything around in a little push cart to set it up exactly how they wanted it and ripping out clumps of grass by hand so they could have a clear aisle. What can we say? We’ll do just about anything for a happy couple.

For Emmy and Scott, their intimate celebration at Deception Pass Beach was all about simplicity and meaning. With a small gathering in a park off the beaten path, our focus was on making sure everything was set and ready for their special day. From coordinating details with vendors to setting up their ceremony space in the perfect spot on the beach, we ensured their vision came to life seamlessly. For events like theirs, we take pride in handling the logistics so couples can enjoy every moment without worry.

THE PROCESS

“We loved working with Katelynn and her team for our wedding! Getting married in 2020 was a challenge and they not only made our wedding day super smooth, but also were very flexible with the changes and state requirements prior to the actual day—which took major stress off of us so we could simply enjoy our big day! So with logistics they crushed it, but also with the aesthetics of the wedding. All the decorative touches Katelynn designed and executed was just what I wanted and felt right out of Pinterest, but meant just for me and Scott. It was the best day ever and we couldn’t have done it without them!”

Canaan and Gabe were planning their Washington wedding from out of town, and DIY’ing a lot of their tablescape details. Naturally, they turned to us to help them handle the day-of coordination so that they could enjoy the day they worked so hard to perfect. We are obsessed with everything about the day–down to the detail.

Canaan and Gabe’s wedding at Twin Willow Gardens was a dreamy boho celebration filled with warmth and charm. The natural beauty of the venue’s lush greenery and towering trees set the perfect backdrop for their heartfelt vows. The reception featured thoughtfully curated details, including delicate bud vases with vibrant blooms and earthy, bohemian-inspired décor that complemented the venue’s rustic elegance. Every aspect of their day exuded a sense of intimacy and laid-back romance, creating a celebration that felt effortlessly unique and true to their style.

THE PROJECT

  • Their dreamy tablescapes complete with cement and gold candlestick holders, and Royal Coupes from Cort!
  • Their garden seating area.
  • Canaan’s Bowie tattoo (if you know, you know).
  • The aesthetic Ahhas ice cream cart they had for dessert

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

As their day-of coordinators, we managed timelines, coordinated vendors, and kept everything running smoothly so Canaan and Gabe could enjoy their day to the fullest. Like most wedding days, theirs wasn’t without minor issues–the sparklers for the sendoff didn’t arrive on time, and one of their cement candlestick holders broke. But we did what we do best and solved those problems before Canaan and Gabe even knew they existed. By the way, sticky dot tape works wonders on broken candlestick holders.

THE PROCESS

“I booked Sage Event Co. for my day of wedding coordination and could not have been more pleased. Katelynn & Paityn did an amazing job with the setup and smoothing out any mishaps. Katelynn made us feel so at ease and completely removed all of our stress on our big day. We had the most amazing time thanks to our team. The only thing I would have done differently is book them for full wedding planning! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone getting married!”

Tori and Stephanus are California-based, so they were planning their wedding from a few states away! But, being from the area, Tori knew that she wanted her wedding to have the timeless, romantic feeling that you can only find in the PNW.

Tori and Stephanus envisioned a wedding that seamlessly blended their Californian and Washington roots with the timeless, romantic ambiance unique to the Pacific Northwest. To achieve this, we incorporated local elements, such as lush greenery and rustic décor, to highlight the natural beauty of the region. The couple’s personal touches, including handwritten vows and a curated playlist of their favorite songs, added warmth and intimacy to the celebration.

THE PROJECT

  • We filled a fire pit with baby’s breath to create an elegant lounge area.
  • Having the lush, evergreen PNW as the background to their event.
  • Seeing all of the moving parts come together for a perfect day (we had a staff of four for this event, because so much went into it!)
  • Tori’s two gorgeous dresses!

OUR FAVORITE PARTS

Since they lived in California, we had to make the most out of our time together whenever they would visit. And, with a ton of vendors and moving parts, our planning process was jam-packed. We helped Tori and Stephanus source their venue and their vendors, and managed all of the timelines and coordination on the day of.

Given the couple’s residence in California, we maximized our in-person meetings during their visits and maintained consistent communication through virtual channels. This approach ensured that every detail was meticulously planned and executed. On the wedding day, our team of four managed the setup, coordination, and teardown, allowing Tori and Stephanus to fully immerse themselves in their special day without any logistical concerns.

Haley & Shawn wanted their wedding to be a beautiful, relaxed experience showcasing everything they love about Seattle. Hosted at the Dockside at Duke’s, their vision included incredible waterfront views, an emphasis on good food and good drinks, and creating a memorable guest experience. With family traveling in from all over, it was essential to share the charm of Seattle life—complete with a cozy, joyful vibe.

What stood out most was the couple’s incredible attitude. Even with the groom’s unexpected injury, their focus never shifted from what mattered most: celebrating their love and creating an unforgettable day for their family and friends. Their resilience, kindness, and unwavering sweetness made this wedding a joy to be part of.

Plus, who doesn’t love a waterfront celebration with great food, great drinks, and great company? The stunning views of Seattle paired with Dockside’s relaxed elegance made this day one to remember.

As we began planning, [Couple’s Names] were a dream to work with—kind, thoughtful, and focused on their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. Of course, every wedding has its surprises: just days before the big day, the groom broke his foot. But if you think that slowed them down, think again! With some creative adjustments, the day went on seamlessly, and their spirits stayed high.

The Dockside at Duke’s provided the perfect backdrop: a stunning waterfront location with warm, elevated dining. From the incredible food and drinks to heartfelt speeches, every moment was crafted to feel authentic and full of joy. Watching guests laugh, connect, and savor the Seattle experience made the day feel exactly as it was intended—personal and unforgettable.

One of the best decisions I made was hiring Katelynn from Sage Event Co. for my day of coordinator! I cannot even begin to describe how much Katelynn helped make sure everything went as planned.[...] We had a few meetings including a venue walk through prior to our wedding on 10/22/22 and it was so comforting knowing that she was there to handle the day. Katelynn was super organized and calm and took over managing my vendors about a week prior which was so reassuring. [...] My family made so many comments about how great and hard working they were and what a relief it was to have them present. Everything came together so well and I know that would have not happened without Katelynn and Paityn. They set up everything and helped with the clean up and I cannot express how amazing of a job they did.
